About The Position

Lucid is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to support the Plant Supplier Quality team in Arizona. This individual-contributor role owns supplier quality performance for assigned mass-production suppliers from initial escalation through permanent corrective action. You will lead technical problem-solving, protect manufacturing operations from supplier-related disruptions, and build productive relationships that improve quality over time. You will also support new-product build events and help transition new components and suppliers into stable mass production. Success will be measured by effective issue containment, durable root-cause elimination, improved supplier performance, and clear visibility into quality risks, priorities, and results. This is an opportunity to influence supplier quality at the plant level while working directly across Lucid’s manufacturing ecosystem.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of plant-floor Supplier Quality Engineering experience in an automotive or similarly complex manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or another relevant technical field.
  • Hands-on experience applying structured problem-solving and quality methods, including 8D, 5 Whys, fishbone analysis, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, and FMEA.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and GD&T, and to translate technical findings into clear actions for suppliers and internal teams.
  • Strong analytical, technical writing, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electrical components, software, ADAS, or wire harness commodities.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Working knowledge of IATF 16949, DOE, DFM/DFA, and additional automotive quality standards and methodologies.
  • ASQ, Six Sigma Black Belt, or a comparable quality certification.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with Smartsheet, JMP, Minitab, JIRA, or Tableau.

Responsibilities

  • Manage quality performance for assigned mass-production suppliers, including supplier scorecards, escalations, corrective actions, and sustained performance improvement.
  • Lead rapid containment, root-cause analysis, and permanent countermeasures for supplier-related quality issues to protect plant operations and prevent recurrence.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Plant Quality, Material Planning, Logistics, NPI, SIE, program teams, and suppliers to develop robust, timely solutions.
  • Establish clear expectations and maintain strong supplier relationships that enable open communication, accountability, and shared quality outcomes.
  • Support new-product build events and supplier transitions into mass production, ensuring quality risks are identified and addressed before they affect production.
  • Transfer lessons learned across programs and use data to strengthen supplier processes, quality controls, and production readiness.
  • Create regular reports for senior leaders that communicate supplier performance, team KPIs and OKRs, key risks, recovery plans, and improvement strategies.
