About The Position

The Senior Compliance Leader - Government Contracting Compliance is the owner of GE Aerospace Government Contracting Compliance, overseeing adherence to CAS, FAR, and DFARS, and serves as the primary liaison with U.S. Department of Defense auditors and contracting officers. This role reports to the D&S Chief Compliance Officer. The role involves setting direction, priorities, and operating rhythms for government compliance activities, deeply understanding government contracting compliance risk, and serving as the primary contact for DCAA, DCMA, and other government oversight officials. Responsibilities include managing audits, inquiries, and data requests, maintaining CAS compliance, preparing executive-level reporting, leading policy development, providing advice and training, investigating compliance concerns, and representing the business in various forums. The role also emphasizes utilizing LEAN principles to simplify processes and reduce cycle time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 10 years of professional experience in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or Law.
  • OR Associates degree with minimum of 12 years of professional experience in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or Law.
  • OR High School Diploma with minimum of 14 years of professional experience in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or Law.
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in government compliance, accounting, finance, or government audits.

Responsibilities

  • Set direction, priorities, and operating rhythms for government compliance activities.
  • Deeply understand government contracting compliance risk, including relevant laws, regulations, case law, and how risk manifests specifically within GE Aerospace.
  • Serve as the primary contact for DCAA, DCMA, and other government oversight officials.
  • Manage audits, regulatory inquiries, and data requests.
  • Coordinate responses and ensure timely, accurate, and consistent communication with government oversight officials.
  • Collaborate with the Site Compliance Review Leader to ensure appropriate allocation of resources for GCC audits and testing of controls.
  • Maintain CAS compliance, including stewardship of CAS Disclosure Statements (updates, consistency evaluations, support of government review).
  • Ensure compliance with FAR and DFAR requirements.
  • Analyze available internal data to gain insights into trends, discrete concerns, and potential gaps or weaknesses in existing risk controls.
  • Maintain an understanding of risk controls used to manage this risk area.
  • Monitor, test, and improve control effectiveness and efficiency, addressing gaps and driving corrective actions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on relevant government contracting compliance matters.
  • Prepare executive-level reporting, presentations, and strategic insights on compliance performance.
  • Lead development, implementation, and review of policies, procedures, and associated documentation.
  • Provide advice, training, and support principally related to the risk area.
  • Investigate compliance concerns.
  • Manage audits of internal teams and external counterparties relating to emerging risks.
  • Implement corrective actions and develop strategies to strengthen a world-class compliance culture.
  • Represent the business in internal and external forums.
  • Utilize LEAN to simplify processes and reduce cycle time, including development of standard practices and web-based tools.
