The Senior Communications Manager reports to the Chief Communications & Fund Development Officer and leads the day-to-day management and implementation of communications across Young Women’s Freedom Center (YWFC) and its projects Sister Warriors Freedom Coalition and Beloved Village, as well as Sister Warriors Action Fund. Working closely with the Chief Communications & Fund Development Officer, the Senior Communications Manager translates organizational priorities and communications strategies into coordinated work plans, campaigns, content, and communications products. This role manages both the organization’s always-on communications and time-bound campaigns, ensuring that work is thoughtfully planned, successfully executed, and aligned across audiences, channels, and organizational projects. The Senior Communications Manager supervises the Social Media and Communications Managers and provides clear direction, feedback, and support to strengthen the communications team’s performance. They also serve as a central communications partner to staff across the organization, gathering information, clarifying communications needs, managing requests and timelines, and ensuring that YWFC’s external communications are accurate, compelling, timely, and grounded in the organization’s mission, values, and voice. The ideal candidate is an experienced communications professional and people manager who is both strategic and highly organized. They can move comfortably between planning and execution, manage multiple priorities without losing sight of details, and help turn complex programmatic, policy, and organizational information into accessible and engaging communications.
