Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, Accounting or Finance degree preferred.
  • Seven or more years credit analysis experience required; or equivalent combination of experience in Credit / Banking.
  • Knowledge of basic computer applications such as Moody’s, the Internet, Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to use bank-specific software such as MPC, IBS, ADP, etc.
  • Ability to use basic office machines.
  • Ability and judgment to interact and communicate appropriately with other employees, customers and supervisor.
  • Ability to serve customers, both internal and external, (community/public) in a manner that will reflect superior customer relations and enhance the overall marketing effort of Origin Bank.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough analysis of financial statements and assessment of credit requests on complex commercial credit relationships of $2,500,000 and greater.
  • Keep up to date with the company’s lending protocols.
  • Perform loan reviews/annual reviews on selected borrowers and guarantors for commercial credit relationships of $2,500,000 and greater.
  • Perform cash flows, financial credit analysis, collateral valuations, global cash flows, etc. for commercial borrowers and guarantors on credit relationships of $2,500,000 and greater.
  • Accompany relationship managers on customer calls and site visits of potential and existing customers as requested / needed.
  • Perform ongoing file maintenance to ensure credit information is uploaded to the credit file in a timely basis as needed.
  • Identify policy, collateral, and missing document exceptions.
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses of the relationship.
  • Assist relationship managers in structuring credits, assessing covenants and monitoring procedures.
  • Responsible for training and development of new relationship managers on the credit analysis process.
  • Responsible for training, development, and mentoring of new credit analysts and the CDP analyst on the credit analysis underwriting and processes.
  • Manage and develop Credit Analyst II / III in the department along with the CDP Analyst (Credit Analyst I).
  • Distribute and assign work flow based on knowledge and complexity in credit manager’s absence.
  • Assist Loan Committee, as needed, with reports, agenda, meeting book, minutes of meetings, and any other duties in Credit Analysis Manager's absence.
  • Supervise employees of the Credit Analysis Department in manager’s absence.
  • May supervise and manage the Credit Analyst II / III.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance in conjunction with management; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
