About The Position

Analyze and prepare credit information to support lending decisions for new and existing commercial banking loans and credit solutions within an assigned client portfolio. Deliver policy-compliant credit recommendations while leading projects and initiatives focused on enhancing credit quality, optimizing ROE, and maintaining exceptional client service across USCB. Minimizes BMO’s risk exposure by adhering to internal credit policies and procedures with respect to lending decisions, regulatory standards, and operational guidelines. Strong operational understanding of commercial loan agreements, including structure, repayment terms, covenants, collateral, and amendments. Independently perform/approve financial covenant compliance calculations and verify collateral margining to assess credit quality and borrowing base availability. Lead and support project management initiatives in collaboration with LOBs, offshore partners, Risk/Control, and other stakeholders to strengthen compliance, governance, product capabilities, and operational efficiency. May manage workflow of other analysts by aligning tasks with departmental goals and objectives. May assume oversight responsibility for support of a business or group, or serve as the primary owner for a key team accountability or product/service. Prepare basic financial performance metrics from client financial statements to support informed credit decisions by deal teams. Involved in ongoing covenant and trigger covenant compliance, including QC, review, and approval of calculations performed by offshore resources.

Requirements

  • BMO Credit Qualifications and associated credit knowledge and skills according to the credit portfolio requirements and qualification standards.
  • Must have Commercial Banking experience
  • Must have experience with Compliance and financial, credit and risk analysis
  • Must have experience with borrowing base verification calculation
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Business Administration, Finance and Accounting preferred. Any other related discipline or have work experience is considered.
  • Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.
