Senior Commercial Manager, Data Centers

Nebius
•$115,000 - $225,000•Remote

About The Position

As Senior Commercial Manager, Data Centers, you will drive the commercial activities that support Nebius's data center expansion and operations across the United States. You will be the primary point of coordination between our data center providers and internal Infrastructure, Legal, Finance, Treasury, and Procurement teams. Your scope will include provider funding requests, contractual commitments, change orders, prepayments, and commercial issues affecting delivery. We are looking for someone who takes ownership from the initial request through final execution: clarifying requirements, resolving open questions, securing approvals, coordinating signatures and payments, and confirming that commitments are fulfilled. You will need to work independently, manage competing priorities, and bring structure to complex situations. This remote position will require travel between Data Centers.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in commercial management, infrastructure business operations, project controls, or capital project delivery.
  • Experience managing commercial activities involving data centers, energy, construction, real estate development, or other capital-intensive infrastructure.
  • A demonstrated ability to drive work across Legal, Finance, and operational teams without direct reporting authority.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration, change orders, payment milestones, budgets, and financial commitments.
  • Confidence reviewing financial information, identifying inconsistencies, and challenging incomplete or unsupported requests.
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and written communication skills.
  • The ability to manage several complex matters simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and clear priorities.
  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the country in which they apply and will be required to provide proof of employment eligibility as a condition of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with hyperscale or AI data center providers.
  • Familiarity with colocation agreements, utility contracts, escrow arrangements, and infrastructure financing.
  • Experience establishing commercial processes in a rapidly growing organization.
  • An understanding of data center construction, power availability, commissioning, and operational handover.

Responsibilities

  • Own the coordination of commercial matters with colocation providers, data center developers, and power infrastructure partners.
  • Review provider requests for completeness, supporting documentation, contractual basis, and alignment with agreed scope and milestones.
  • Coordinate negotiations on change orders, payment schedules, and other commercial arrangements with the relevant business owners and Legal.
  • Track provider obligations and follow through on unresolved commitments, discrepancies, and disputes.
  • Drive funding requests, milestone payments, deposits, and prepayments through internal review and approval.
  • Maintain a consolidated view of requested, approved, committed, and paid amounts across projects.
  • Reconcile revised requests, funding reallocations, and previously paid amounts with Finance and providers.
  • Coordinate with Legal and Finance on loan arrangements, escrow releases, guarantees, and other funding structures when required.
  • Ensure documentation, signatures, and authorized approvals are completed before Treasury releases funds, and confirm payment receipt and allocation with providers.
  • Establish clear owners, deadlines, and next steps across Infrastructure, Legal, Finance, Treasury, and Procurement.
  • Lead focused reviews to resolve open issues and secure decisions.
  • Prepare concise recommendations explaining the request, available options, financial implications, and delivery impact.
  • Escalate unresolved issues early and drive them through to closure.
  • Work with construction, power, and operations teams to connect commercial decisions to project schedules and capacity availability.
  • Identify funding or contractual dependencies that could delay procurement, construction, commissioning, or handover.
  • Provide leadership with clear reporting on outstanding commitments, upcoming payments, and decisions required.
  • Build repeatable processes for provider requests, approvals, documentation, and reporting as the portfolio grows.
