About The Position

The Senior Commercial Finance Manager is the primary commercial finance business partner across Harrison.ai. This role owns FP&A, Reporting automation, Commercial deal desk, as well as providing financial insight and rigour that underpins strategic decision-making across the business. The company is at an exciting stage of growth — scaling its business internationally and investing in the people, processes, and systems. Reporting to the CFO, this is a senior individual contributor role with high visibility across the executive team, including the CEO and COO. The successful candidate will also play a key role in driving finance automation and data warehouse initiatives. We're looking for a builder, not a caretaker — someone who turns blank pages and broken processes into scalable systems, pairing strong commercial finance rigour with the initiative to automate and improve rather than just report.

Requirements

  • CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent professional accounting qualification).
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in commercial finance, FP&A, or finance business partnering roles.
  • Strong experience in SaaS or technology businesses, ideally with recurring revenue models (ARR/CARR).
  • Demonstrated experience owning budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting end-to-end.
  • Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and financial reporting tools.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with Power BI or similar BI tools highly regarded.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills — able to translate complex financial data for non-finance audiences.
  • Commercially astute with a track record of driving business performance through financial insight and analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a scale-up or high-growth technology or healthcare company.
  • Exposure to deal desk, pricing strategy, or sales operations functions.
  • Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP system.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and automation in a finance or business operations context.

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly management financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and actionable insight.
  • Prepare quarterly departmental and board reporting packages covering financial performance and critical business KPIs.
  • Own the budgeting and forecasting cycles end-to-end, partnering with business unit leaders.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and modelling to support strategic and operational decisions.
  • Have input into commercial financial reporting, including CARR (Contracted Annual Recurring Revenue) reporting and associated metrics.
  • Implement and operate the Deal Desk, including development of a cost-to-serve calculator and customer profitability analysis.
  • Design and execute the Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) framework, including quarterly outcome calculations and commission reconciliations.
  • Act as the primary interface between commercial teams and the finance operational team, ensuring alignment and accuracy.
  • Ensure billing accuracy — translating distribution volumes and contract terms into accurate customer invoicing.
  • Support revenue recognition accounting and definitions, including treatment of recurring vs. non-recurring revenue, pilots, and grants.
  • Simplify and maintain SIP commission framework definitions to ensure clarity and auditability.
  • Partnering cross-functionally across product, technology, sales and operations to influence commercial decisions and embed efficiency
  • Help drive the data warehouse program across the business, with a focus on finance reporting automation.
  • Partner with the data and engineering teams to migrate reporting from Excel-based models to automated systems (Power BI or similar).
  • Leverage AI tools to identify and automate repetitive finance tasks, improving team efficiency and data quality.
  • Act as a bridge between Commercial, Finance, and Operations teams — translating business needs into financial frameworks and vice versa.
