About The Position

As a Senior Commercial Credit Analyst in the Wausau market, you will evaluate the risk of extending credit by reviewing borrower and guarantor financial information and turning your analysis into clear recommendations for lending decisions. You will own the bank’s most complex credit relationships and serve as a resource for the analyst team. The role involves focused analysis and timely collaboration with lenders. You will prioritize higher-complexity relationships, confirm assumptions and documentation, prepare decision-ready narratives, keep annual reviews moving, coach newer analysts, track deadlines and policy considerations, and prepare for committee or approval discussions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
4–5 years of commercial credit analyst experience in a banking environment.
Strong credit risk assessment skills.
Strong financial statement analysis skills.
Strong memo and presentation writing skills.
Knowledge of banking accounting rules, regulations, and policies.
Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
Clear communication skills.
Mentoring and leadership ability.

Responsibilities

Spread and analyze financial statements and tax returns.
Complete global cash flow and collateral analysis.
Prepare independent credit memos and loan presentations.
Complete annual relationship and loan reviews.
Partner with lenders to gather and clarify financial details and documentation.
Take ownership of the bank’s most complex credit relationships.
Serve as a resource and coach newer analysts on structure, cash flow, and risk.
Reinforce credit policies and offer feedback on department direction.
Prioritize work, track progress against deadlines, and prepare for committee or approval conversations.
