Senior Commercial Credit Analyst

About The Position

As a Senior Commercial Credit Analyst in the Wausau market, you will evaluate the risk of extending credit by reviewing borrower and guarantor financial information and translating analysis into clear recommendations for lending decisions. You will own the bank’s most complex credit relationships and serve as a resource for the analyst team. The role involves focused analysis and collaboration with lenders to confirm assumptions, clarify documentation, and align on next steps. You will create decision-ready narratives, keep annual reviews moving forward, coach newer analysts, monitor deadlines and policy considerations, and prepare for committee or approval discussions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
4–5 years of commercial credit analyst experience in a banking environment.
Strong credit risk assessment skills.
Strong financial statement analysis skills.
Strong memo and presentation writing skills.
Knowledge of banking accounting rules, regulations, and policies.
Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
Clear communication ability.
Mentoring and leadership ability.

Responsibilities

Spread and analyze financial statements and tax returns.
Complete global cash flow and collateral analyses.
Prepare independent credit memos and loan presentations.
Complete annual relationship and loan reviews.
Partner with lenders to gather and clarify financial details.
Reinforce credit policies and provide feedback on department direction.
Manage the bank’s most complex credit relationships.
Coach and support newer analysts.
Track deadlines, policy considerations, and preparation for committee or approval discussions.
