About The Position

BDC is the only bank dedicated exclusively to Canadian entrepreneurs, supporting the growth of small and medium-sized businesses across Canada. As a Senior Commercial Account Manager, you will drive business development and manage a portfolio of clients with revenues between $3M and $50M. Your work contributes directly to the success of Canadian businesses through financing solutions and advisory services. You will leverage your network in the Brossard region to build relationships and create new opportunities while delivering measurable impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in commercial banking, business banking, or corporate finance.
  • Experience in business development, client acquisition, and achieving sales targets.
  • Experience analyzing financial statements (e.g., balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements).
  • Ability to structure and negotiate financing proposals.
  • Established professional network in the Brossard region or demonstrated ability to build one.
  • Proficiency in French (spoken and written), knowledge of English is considered an asset.
  • Strong client relationship management skills with a track record of delivering client-focused solutions.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (if required for the territory).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with revenues between $3M and $50M.
  • Familiarity with credit risk assessment and commercial lending processes.
  • Experience collaborating with referral partners or centers of influence (e.g., accountants, lawyers, business advisors).

Responsibilities

  • Meet with entrepreneurs to assess business needs, challenges, and growth opportunities.
  • Provide advisory services and recommend appropriate BDC financing and solutions.
  • Develop and execute an individual business development and portfolio management plan aligned with Business Centre objectives.
  • Grow and retain an existing portfolio of commercial clients while acquiring new clients.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of business opportunities through prospecting and networking.
  • Review, structure, negotiate, and present financing proposals while applying sound credit judgment.
  • Engage actively in the local business community to build relationships with centers of influence (COIs) and generate referrals.
