About The Position

As a member of the Supply Chain team, you will be responsible for support in one of the key areas: manufacturing/warehouse operations, supply chain systems and processes, launch execution and scheduling and material management. Executes deliverables in support of the supply chain organization's business objectives. Guides of one of the key areas within the Global Supply Chain to ensure business objectives are met or exceeded in all areas including customer, quality, service, responsiveness, people, product and financial initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within Engineering, Supply Chain, Warehousing, Manufacturing or Purchasing (any internship or co-op experience will not be considered).
  • High level of analytical ability where problems can be somewhat complex.
  • High level of oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
  • Ability to balance multiple assignments.
  • Computer skills and knowledge with understanding of GM On-line software (Microsoft Excel, OneNote, Word, and Outlook, etc).
  • Material system knowledge.
  • Skilled in managing projects.
  • Planning and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and self-directed.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related advanced degree a plus.
  • Ability to communicate to senior leadership.
  • Plant Experience.
  • Experience working autonomously or independently.
  • Purchasing system knowledge (GPS).

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between purchasing, engineering, warehousing/manufacturing, logistics and suppliers to resolve issues and to provide support.
  • Communicate to all levels of the organization, within the function as well as other functions and suppliers.
  • Support relationship management with logistic suppliers and service providers.
  • Understand and assess complex supply chain issues and lead teams in a cross functional environment to successfully resolve issues minimizing impacts to vehicle production.
  • Assess supplier schedules and impact on vehicle assembly production.
  • Collaborate cross functionally to develop creative solutions.
  • Summarize critical issues with resolutions and communicate to leadership.
  • Handle very complex capacity constraint issues to resolution with the goal to eliminate potential plant disruptions and reduce premium transportation.
  • Analyze metrics supporting supplier critical issues or sufficiency plan resolution.
  • Problem tackle complete issues and implement new and innovative strategies.
