About The Position

As a Senior Coating Advisor, you will be responsible for providing technical support to sales teams, customers, and stakeholders. This includes performing physical inspections, condition surveys, and overseeing product application activities. You will also conduct technical analysis of product specifications, deliver technical training and presentations, and prepare technical briefings for customer and company representatives. The role involves preparing inspection reports using digital reporting software and evaluating sales proposals to ensure technical accuracy and consistency with organizational standards. This position is remote, with travel to job sites as needed. The ideal candidate is located in the Gulf Coast region of the U.S., but other locations will be considered. You will work alongside applicators, distributors, contractors, engineers, and consultants to ensure proper use and application of Hempel’s products, understanding customer needs and challenges to provide services that strengthen coating solutions and create monetizable value. Collaboration with internal teams such as Sales, R&D, and Customer Care is essential for delivering exceptional service. You will act as a brand ambassador, communicating product features and benefits, ensuring compliance with technical documentation, standards, and best practices. Accurate data collection, report preparation, and feedback provision are key responsibilities. Onsite training for applicators and sales teams, educating customers on product performance and the value of Technical Services, and timely distribution of accurate company and customer reports using corporate tools are also crucial. Responsible use and maintenance of PPE and technical equipment, monitoring project paint inventory, and participating in internal and external Technical Services strategy activities are expected.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/Bachelor degree
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Coating Industry
  • English business proficiency (oral and written)
  • MS office basic level
  • General computer literacy
  • Willing to travel extensively (up to 80%, domestic and international)
  • Willing to work flexible schedules
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

  • Marine coating experience is a plus
  • NACE certification is a plus

  • Providing onsite training to coatings applicators and Hempel’s Sales teams.
  • Educating and persuading customers about product performance and the value of Technical Services.
  • Generating and distributing accurate company and customer reports in a timely manner.
  • Using PPE and technical equipment responsibly, ensuring calibration and maintenance.
  • Monitoring and managing project paint inventory.
  • Actively participating in internal and external Technical Services strategy activities.
  • Conducting surveys, troubleshooting issues, and finding resolutions.
