About The Position

As a Senior Coating Advisor, you will be responsible for providing technical support to sales teams, customers, and stakeholders. This includes performing physical inspections, condition surveys, and overseeing product application activities. You will also conduct technical analysis of product specifications, deliver technical training and presentations, and prepare technical briefings for customer and company representatives. Additionally, you will prepare inspection reports using digital reporting software and evaluate sales proposals to ensure technical accuracy and consistency with organizational standards. This position is remote with travel to job sites as needed, ideally located in the Gulf Coast region of the U.S., though other locations will be considered. You will be on the front lines, working with applicators, distributors, contractors, engineers, and consultants to ensure proper use and application of Hempel’s products. You will strive to understand customer needs and challenges, providing services that support and strengthen coating solutions to create monetizable value. Collaboration with internal teams such as Sales, R&D, and Customer Care is essential for delivering exceptional end-user service. You will act as an ambassador for the brand, communicating product features and benefits, ensuring compliance with technical documentation, and guiding specifications and best practices. Accurate data collection, report preparation, and feedback provision are key responsibilities. You will also provide onsite training to applicators and sales teams, educating customers on product performance and the value of Technical Services. Generating and distributing accurate reports using corporate tools to communicate project status, quality, consumption, budget, and scheduling is crucial. Responsible use and maintenance of PPE and technical equipment, along with managing project paint inventory, are also part of the role. Active participation in internal and external Technical Services strategy, including surveys and troubleshooting, is expected.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/Bachelor degree
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Coating Industry
  • English business proficiency (oral and written)
  • MS office basic level
  • General computer literacy
  • Willing to travel extensively (up to 80%, domestic and international) and with flexible schedules
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to sales teams, customers, and stakeholders.

  • Ensure compliance with Product Data Sheets, guide specifications, relevant technical and industrial standards, working procedures, and best painting/application practices.
  • Accurately collect and record data, prepare work progress reports including testing, analysis, and interpretation of data, providing feedback when necessary.
  • Provide onsite training to coatings applicators and Hempel’s Sales teams.
  • Educate and persuade customers about the performance of coating solutions and the value of Technical Services.
  • Generate accurate company and customer reports and distribute them in a timely manner using corporate reporting tools.
  • Use PPE and technical equipment responsibly and ensure equipment is calibrated, maintained, and in good condition.
  • Monitor and manage project paint inventory, offering timely updates to Sales to avoid shortages.
  • Actively participate in internal and external Technical Services strategy activities by conducting surveys, troubleshooting issues, and finding resolutions.
