RINA•Fort Lauderdale, FL
•$140,000 - $198,000

About The Position

RINA is recruiting a Senior Coastal Engineer to join its Environmental and Engineering Geoscience Division in Houston, Texas; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; or Chicago/Lisle, Illinois. The role leads the maritime discipline for a strategic project from design basis through construction close-out, with responsible charge for marine engineering and an agency-facing role with USACE Galveston District, the non-federal sponsor (Port Victoria), and the Coast Guard. The Engineer of Record seals permit and construction drawings. The position owns the maritime Design Basis, berth concept, dredge footprint, and engineering content of the Section 408 request and Section 10/404 application. It directs marine detailed design, coordinates related disciplines into an issued-for-construction package, defines marine work packages, and leads technical bid evaluation. During construction, the role reviews contractor methods and design changes, addresses field queries, accepts surveys and completed works, and verifies permit compliance. It also supports first berthing and trial operations, as-built certification, USACE completion notification, and operations and maintenance planning. The role requires an active Texas civil Professional Engineer license and 15 or more years of relevant coastal, port, or waterway engineering experience. Travel to the project site may be up to 50%, and on-site presence during marine construction is required. Compensation is $140,000–$198,000, commensurate with education and experience.
