About The Position

The AWS Security Controls team within Cloud Security Engineering is seeking a Senior Security Developer. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing AWS security controls and implementing innovative security solutions. You will also contribute to the developer experience and foster a culture that encourages best security practices.

Requirements

  • 2+ years developing security solutions in AWS.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience securing AWS environments using cloud-native services such as AWS Config, IAM, GaurdDuty, SecurityHub, Control Tower.
  • 2+ year of experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins and AWS CodePipeline.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for developing AWS security solutions.
  • Familiarity with AWS services and serverless architectures (Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, DynamoDB).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform or CDK.
  • Familiarity with modern Software Engineering, DevOps, and SRE practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Wiz or other cloud security posture management (CSPM) platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization tools (Docker) and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes or ECS.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Datadog and AWS CloudWatch.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, AWS Certified Security Specialty, AWS Solutions Architect, CKA.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks an compliance requirements.
  • Stay updated with latest security trends & AI technologies.
  • Experience using AI Agents and Skills to enhance security operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and maintain AWS security controls using serverless architectures, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automation.
  • Design and build cloud security services using automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and test-driven development practices.
  • Build and operate security controls, remediations, and other security-related infrastructure and tools.
  • Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines to ensure secure, efficient, and scalable cloud deployments.
  • Conduct proof of concepts for new AWS-native, open-source, or vendor security solutions.
  • Implement SRE practices to enhance operational processes and reliability.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide after-hours support for critical systems.
