About The Position

The company is seeking a Senior Cloud Manager to lead cloud operations across a complex portfolio of 27+ enterprise product lines. This role is critical in driving our transition from legacy infrastructure to AWS-based cloud environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and operational excellence. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for managing cloud engineering teams through Cloud Managers, while shaping cloud governance, operational standards, and AWS modernization efforts.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture.
  • Experience with legacy systems (on-prem, monolithic apps) and modernization
  • Experience with cloud operations and incident management
  • Experience with infrastructure scalability and performance optimization
  • Experience with security and compliance in cloud environments
  • Experience managing through team leads or managers (preferred but not required).
  • Strong communication skills with ability to work across orgs.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
  • Have they worked on legacy → AWS migration? (must-have)
  • Have they led teams at scale (15–40+)?
  • Are they operationally strong, not just architecture-focused?
  • Have they touched cost optimization / FinOps at all?

Responsibilities

  • Lead cloud transformation initiatives focused on migrating legacy systems to AWS.
  • Partner with architecture and engineering teams to support modernization (re-platforming, refactoring, hybrid cloud).
  • Help define and execute cloud operating models that scale across multiple product lines.
  • Manage and develop Cloud Managers overseeing 40+ engineers across platform engineering, SRE, and cloud operations.
  • Drive accountability, performance, and growth across teams.
  • Foster a culture of reliability, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee day-to-day cloud operations, ensuring high availability and performance across all environments.
  • Implement and improve incident management, escalation processes, and operational rigor.
  • Partner with SRE and engineering teams to enhance system reliability and uptime.
  • Establish and maintain cloud governance frameworks, KPIs, and operational standards.
  • Ensure adherence to AWS best practices for security, scalability, and performance.
  • Support consistent tooling and operational processes across teams.
  • Partner with finance and leadership on cloud budget planning and cost optimization.
  • Drive FinOps practices to improve cost visibility and efficiency.
  • Monitor usage trends and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Security, and Compliance teams.
  • Ensure cloud operations align with business priorities and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a key liaison between technical teams and leadership.
