About The Position

LocalStack is a fast-growing Series A startup building cutting-edge technology to revolutionize cloud development processes and support highly efficient dev&test feedback loops. We are seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our globally distributed team. LocalStack provides secure local sandboxes that simulate cloud environments, enabling AI agents and software developers to find and fix risks faster and more effectively than they can in the cloud. Our customer base ranges from SMBs to Global Fortune 500 companies, including NASA, Harness, IBM, Workday, Comcast, Apple, 3M, and Block. We are sustainably growing our teams across GTM, operations, and engineering, having almost doubled in size in 2025 and continuing to grow in 2026. LocalStack is headquartered in Zurich/Switzerland, with an engineering office in Vienna/Austria, and remote team members from 25 countries.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer/ SRE/ DevOps/ DevSecOps/Infrastructure Engineer or similar role.
• 5+ years of expertise in using AWS, such as EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, RDS, VPC, CloudFormation, and CloudFront.
• 5+ years of experience with Linux.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI).
• 3+ years of experience in AWS containerized services, such as ECS, EKS, Fargate and containerized tools such as Docker, Helm, ArgoCD.
• Highly proficient in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation.
• Strong background in software development, with proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, Ruby.

Nice To Haves

• Experience across Azure, Snowflake, GCP and other major cloud providers.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable cloud solutions for customers.
• Optimize for cost efficiency and performance.
• Deploy and manage workloads using the best fit containerization technology for the job (e.g. k8s, MicroVMs).
• Automate infrastructure using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation (develop Chef cookbooks, automation scripts and tools).
