About The Position

The Senior Systems Administrator / IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, security, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise infrastructure supporting business-critical operations. This position provides technical leadership across virtualization, Windows and Linux server environments, identity management, networking, endpoint security, cloud-integrated services, disaster recovery, and enterprise collaboration platforms. The role serves as the highest level of technical escalation while leading infrastructure modernization initiatives and ensuring secure, reliable, and highly available IT services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or related discipline; equivalent professional experience considered.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience administering enterprise IT infrastructure.
  • Extensive experience supporting VMware vSphere, Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, enterprise networking, and virtualization technologies.
  • Experience supporting enterprise storage, backup, disaster recovery, endpoint management, and security platforms.
  • Experience leading enterprise infrastructure projects from planning through implementation.
  • Experience supporting production environments requiring high availability and business continuity.
  • Advanced knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server administration
  • Knowledge of Oracle/Red Hat Linux system administration experience
  • Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and authentication services
  • Enterprise networking including routing, switching, wireless, VPN, and TCP/IP

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain enterprise Windows Server, Linux, VMware vSphere, networking, storage, and virtualization environments supporting business-critical applications.
  • Design, deploy, configure, and support VMware ESXi, vCenter, virtual machines, clustered infrastructure, and enterprise storage platforms.
  • Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, VPN, identity management, authentication services, and enterprise directory services.
  • Deploy, manage, and maintain enterprise endpoint management and security platform.
  • Lead infrastructure projects including virtualization upgrades, office relocations, data center modernization, infrastructure refreshes, and technology migrations.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting for Windows, Linux, virtualization, storage, endpoint, and application issues while serving as Tier III technical escalation.
  • Monitor infrastructure health, system performance, storage utilization, virtualization resources, and overall system availability while proactively resolving issues.
  • Design, implement, and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions to ensure operational resilience.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend infrastructure improvements that increase reliability, security, automation, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop technical documentation, operational procedures, system diagrams, disaster recovery documentation, and infrastructure standards.
  • Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell and other scripting tools to improve operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with vendors, business units, and technical teams to successfully implement enterprise infrastructure initiatives.
  • Mentor junior technical staff and provide technical leadership, knowledge sharing, and best practice guidance.
  • Participate in change management, incident response, root cause analysis, and production support activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of enterprise infrastructure and IT operations.
