About The Position

Seamless Migration is seeking a career and customer-oriented Senior Systems Cloud Administrator, to join our team in Herndon, VA. This role is responsible for the overall evaluation, design, and daily operation of the Corporate IT Server and Application Services (SAS) environment. The administrator will evaluate complex system requirements and design, implement, and maintain efficient infrastructure solutions. They will also develop and document technical standards, identify and evaluate new products, and interface with vendors to procure new hardware and software. Collaboration with other IT teams to resolve system and application issues is key. The role involves installing, configuring, upgrading, patching, maintaining, and monitoring the SAS environment across the enterprise, ensuring compliance with security and encryption protocols supporting U.S. national security requirements. High availability of the environment through fault and performance management, enforcement of corporate network, system, and application security procedures, and creation/documentation of processes for SAS infrastructure are also core responsibilities. The administrator will create and maintain server/application diagrams and workflows, perform and coordinate incident diagnosis, corrective actions, and root cause analysis, and manage vulnerabilities through monthly system patching and maintenance. Oversight of the configuration, testing, installation, modification, and servicing of server components and applications, and independent prioritization of work requests based on departmental priorities and system criticality are expected. Managing vendor relationships for SAS infrastructure components and serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and consultant to Cloud Operations, Cyber Security, and Systems Administration teams are also part of the role. The position involves planning, leading, and performing systems analysis and design activities, including the development of detailed functional requirements for new server infrastructure solutions. There is a potential opportunity to convert to a full-time employee.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in an enterprise IT Systems Administrator or Cloud Administrator role.
  • 4+ years of experience with PowerShell or Bash scripting for automation.
  • Experience with Ansible for deployments.
  • Experience managing firewalls.
  • Expert-level Microsoft Azure administration experience.
  • Senior-level Windows administration experience, including Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy.
  • Experience troubleshooting and patching SUSE, RedHat, or CentOS environments.
  • Ability to work onsite in Herndon, VA three days per week.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and only hold U.S. citizenship.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional industry certifications such as: MCSE, MCITP, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104), Azure Certified Solutions Architect (AZ-303/AZ-304).
  • Experience integrating SIEM tools, backup solutions, and monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and frameworks such as NIST 800-53 Revision 4.

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and consultant to Cloud Operations, Cyber Security, and Systems Administration teams.
  • Plan, lead, and perform systems analysis and design activities, including development of detailed functional requirements for new server infrastructure solutions.
