About The Position

As part of an interdisciplinary team, the Senior Clinician will conduct psychotherapy with adult members that have severe and persistent mental illness in the agency’s interim housing facilities, Access Center, and field. The Senior Clinician’s primary responsibilities are to engage members and to coordinate mental health and recovery services that will ensure housing stability and community integrations. This position is responsible for maintaining the highest quality provision of direct individual and group therapeutic and case management services while fostering teamwork among staff and across departments and programs.

Requirements

  • ACSW, AMFT, or APCC registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences; registration in good standing.
  • Outstanding clinical and strong team-building skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and database applications.
  • Detail oriented with excellent time management, organizational, written, verbal, interpersonal, and computer skills.
  • Able to learn quickly and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies and with minimal supervision.
  • Valid CA Driver’s license, reliable car, auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record
  • Able to transport members in your vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences; registration in good standing.
  • Experience working with those living with mental illness and/or substance addictions
  • Experience completing DMH documentation
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide, coordinate and implement mental health and recovery support services with individual members.
  • Conduct individual and group psychotherapy, and document services using Department of Mental Health (DMH) and Medi-Cal guidelines.
  • Develop effective, trusting relationships with members, with a focus on facilitating independence and maintenance of improved physical and mental health.
  • Collaborate with each member to develop their individual treatment plan, review and update it upon completion of goals.
  • Assist management and other clinicians with program evaluation for future program improvements and growth.
  • Assist members with becoming involved in daily activities, socialization, health maintenance, sense of community, and progress in recovery reflecting of The People Concern’s model which emphasizes customer choice, harm reduction, and psychosocial rehabilitation.
  • Work cooperatively and cohesively with other members of the Clinical Services team, including participation in weekly staff meetings, group clinical supervision and trainings.
  • Provide crisis intervention services.
  • Currently or is willing to become LPS designated and participates in crisis management for program.
  • Registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) and remains in a direct service capacity.
  • Provide supervision to clinical interns within the program as needed.
  • Assist in crisis interventions as needed, including participating in on call rotation calendar for overnight and weekend After Hours Emergency Line
