About The Position

The Department of Psychiatry is recruiting for a Senior Clinical Research Associate. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Senior Clinical Research Associate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary research team to support clinical trials involving the recruitment of Veterans. Direct Portland VA and Veteran experience is an essential specialized skill required of this role. The Senior Clinical Research associate will primarily support a multisite DoD funded study examining Integrative Health Care for Veterans with PTSD. This role requires experience working with the Veteran population, particularly the Portland VA, as this person's primary responsibility will be to screen, enroll, recruit participants and coordinate study visits. This role requires independent judgment while working closely with the PI and research team to support project objectives and ensure milestones are being met. This role involves communication and coordination with study staff, interventionists, co-investigators and collaborators to complete study tasks, managing participant reimbursements, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality, developing standard operating procedures and ensuring project activities are being conducted with fidelity to research protocols, assisting with Institutional Review Board (IRB) and other regulatory compliance correspondence, contributing to data analysis and the preparation of scholarly manuscripts, grant submissions and presentations in collaboration with the PI, and additional administrative tasks as needed to support project goals. Overall, the Senior Clinical Research Associate will support project objectives by exhibiting dependability, productivity, professionalism, accuracy, timeliness and responsivity, problem-solving, strong ethical and inclusive understanding, as well as compassion, kindness, and clarity when communicating verbally or in writing with research participants, volunteers, outside organizations and stakeholders, outside faculty and staff, and OHSU faculty and staff. Requirements

  • Master's Degree in relevant field AND 5 years of clinical research coordination experience with 1 to 3 years of direct and current VA MH clinic connections and participant recruitment experience at the Portland VA OR Bachelor's Degree in relevant field AND 9 years of clinical research Coordination experience with 1 to 3 years of direct and current VA MH clinic connections and participant recruitment experience at the Portland VA.
  • Direct Portland VA and Veteran experience is an essential specialized skill.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sufficient computer knowledge to interface with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint), REDCap database, and virtual platforms such as Teams and WebEx.
  • Effectiveness in organizing tasks and setting priorities.
  • Multi-tasking ability.
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimum oversight.
  • Ability to interact constructively with faculty and staff.
  • Adaptability, creativity, and quick learning ability.

Nice To Haves

  • 4 or more years of prior coursework and clinical experience working with Veterans.
  • 4 or more years of previous experience working with Veterans.

Responsibilities
