Senior Client Solutions Engineer

OAG Aviation Worldwide•Chicago, IL
•$131,000 - $197,000•Remote

About The Position

The Senior Client Solutions Engineer leads OAG’s global developer relations capability and is the technical and solutions bridge between OAG and its most commercially significant accounts worldwide. Reporting to a Regional Sales Director, you will lead technical discovery, run proof-of-concept workstreams, own the technical path through complex integrations and build credibility with demanding technical buyers. You will also define and own the structured feedback loop from the field to the product organisation, shaping OAG’s API and data integration roadmap, and act as the primary technical authority across OAG for API architecture, data integration and the developer ecosystem. This is a technically demanding role that requires genuine depth across technical, commercial and product disciplines.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable track record of technical pre-sales or solutions work at enterprise level in a data, analytics, or SaaS business, with direct involvement in deals from first technical qualification through to contract.
  • Hands-on fluency with data APIs, integration architecture, and data pipeline design. Able to review an integration proposal, identify weaknesses, and redirect without needing to involve a delivery engineer.
  • Experience leading proof-of-concept workstreams independently: scoping, executing, and presenting results to both technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Genuine credibility with senior technical buyers. Not experience presenting to senior buyers — the ability to hold a conversation at CTO or engineering lead level that the buyer finds substantive and specific to their context.
  • Some experience working alongside a product organisation: contributing to roadmap discussions, translating customer signals into structured input, or understanding how product decisions get made.
  • Strong commercial instinct. Understands the difference between a customer who is genuinely bought in and one who is managing you. Knows when a technical conversation is the deal and when it is a delay.

Nice To Haves

  • Forward-deployed engineering or developer relations experience.
  • Experience with AI-enabled data products or intelligence platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical discovery and qualification on enterprise opportunities worldwide, matching OAG capability to the customer’s problem and handling technical objections when a buyer’s engineering or data team gets involved.
  • Design and lead proof-of-concept workstreams end to end, from scoping through to presenting results in commercial terms, and stay engaged through implementation on complex deals.
  • Own API and integration consultation, including architecture review, data pipeline scoping and technical risk identification.
  • Act as the primary technical authority across OAG for API architecture, data integration and the developer ecosystem, advising product and engineering on customer-driven technical direction.
  • Run OAG Intelligence Platform proofs of concept with early adopter customers, building the technical proof points the wider commercial team can use and feeding back on readiness ahead of broad commercial release.
  • Define and own the structured feedback loop from the field to the product organisation, working with the Head of Digital Product and the Head of Data Products to translate field intelligence into roadmap decisions.
  • Identify and facilitate customer developer partnerships, prototyping solutions to specific commercial problems and remaining the field-side point of accountability.
  • Support commercial teams at key moments in the deal cycle: briefing on technical market signals, creating replicable plays from every engagement, and coaching colleagues on technical topics where it materially improves customer conversations.

Benefits

  • Proactively explore and adopt AI tools and automation in your day-to-day work, keeping the customer at the centre of everything you do. Share learnings with your team and approach new technologies with curiosity and an open mind.
  • Real responsibility on hard problems, with the autonomy to own decisions and act on them, in an open culture built on trust.
  • Flexible working arrangements that allow remote work or office attendance
  • 401k administered by vitality. Medical, dental and vision insurance.
  • 22 days holiday plus bank holidays, and a day off during your birthday month
  • Work remotely anywhere in the world for up to 1 month per year
  • Inclusive family benefits designed to support you through parenthood and fertility journeys
