About The Position

Cambridge Associates is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Director to drive lead generation and pipeline building across all client types and service offerings within the US Southeast region. This role is pivotal in expanding the firm’s reach, cultivating new relationships, and supporting the growth of our institutional and private client businesses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 12+ years of business development experience in financial services, investment management, or related fields.
  • Proven track record of lead generation, relationship management, and sales pipeline development.
  • Deep understanding of institutional and private client segments, with established networks in the assigned region.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to travel within the region as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities across endowments, foundations, pensions, private clients, and other institutional segments.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of prospects, ensuring consistent activity and progress toward growth targets.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with centers of influence (COIs), including consultants, industry associations, and key market participants within the region.
  • Engage directly with prospects to understand their needs and position Cambridge Associates’ solutions effectively.
  • Collaborate with practice-wide business development programs to leverage firm-wide networks, including existing clients and investment managers.
  • Utilize internal resources and cross-functional teams to identify additional contacts and opportunities for relationship development.
  • Represent Cambridge Associates at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to enhance visibility and generate leads.
  • Develop and execute targeted outreach campaigns in partnership with marketing and practice leaders.
  • Work closely with client solutions, investment, and marketing teams to ensure seamless handoff and onboarding of new clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of business development activities, pipeline status, and relationship progress in CRM systems.
  • Provide regular updates and insights to senior leadership on regional business development performance and market trends.
