About The Position

S&ME is seeking an experienced Senior Client Developer to support its environmental, geotechnical, and construction materials testing teams in Tennessee and Alabama. This role focuses on business development, fostering client relationships, and contributing to the company's growth. S&ME emphasizes high-quality client interactions, sound technical solutions, and collaborative problem-solving. The company has a diverse client base across various industries and is involved in significant projects in Alabama and Tennessee, particularly in Commercial Real Estate, Institutional, Energy, and Transportation Markets.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, marketing, construction, business, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of technical and/or business development experience within the Commercial Real Estate, Architecture, Construction, and Engineering industries.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Existing relationships with various A/E/C industry Designers, Contractors, and Owners.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, using personal vehicles for company business, which may sometimes occur during evenings and on weekends.
  • Ability to increase sales opportunities for S&ME, achieve a sales target, and contribute to profitable growth across Tennessee and Alabama.
  • Candidates must comply with our Fleet Management, Substance Policy, and Reference Check requirements.
  • Only candidates with valid employment eligibility (I-9) will be considered.

  • Candidates with significantly more than 8 years' experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Current involvement and visibility in professional organizations, industry associations, civic groups, and/or local associations for economic and business growth is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in leading S&ME's business development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Project Management, Communications, and Marketing teams to establish new client relationships and strengthen existing ones.
  • Develop strategies to support company growth and client success.
  • Partner with local leadership and staff to identify market trends and potential clients, and develop strategies to achieve sales and net revenue goals.
  • Identify cross-region clients and develop strategies for regional client development.
  • Represent S&ME in local markets to enhance client relationships, win new clients, and increase S&ME's profile.
  • Maintain active involvement in professional associations for networking and growth.
  • Coordinate marketing activities and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Help organize local events and social media campaigns.
  • Assist in developing letters of interest, proposals, responses to RFQs, and interview presentations.
  • Train project managers and other staff to strengthen their business development skills.
  • Participate in and lead regular Business Development meetings to ensure effective strategy implementation.
  • Research, prospect, and schedule face-to-face meetings with key decision-makers and influencers.
  • Increase sales opportunities for S&ME, achieve sales targets, and contribute to profitable growth across Tennessee and Alabama.
