About The Position

This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Florida Reception Center in the Classification Department. The Classification Department accurately assesses and classifies inmates based on their needs, risks, and behaviors. We ensure appropriate housing and program placements within the correctional system. Our goal is to enhance safety and security while promoting effective rehabilitation, ultimately aiding in the successful reintegration of inmates into society.

Requirements

• Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.
• Must pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Preparing correspondence, memorandums, and typing essential forms and documents.
• Maintaining inmate files, conducting audits on new inmates, and preparing necessary forms.
• Inputting data into the CDC database, retrieving and printing information, and maintaining classification documentation.
• Receiving, date stamping, sorting and distributing mail, as well as handling, copying scanning, and faxing of documents.
• Answering phone calls professionally, assisting inmate families, and taking on special projects and other clerical duties as assigned.
