This role provides federal position classification and position management support, including the evaluation of positions, organizational structures, and workforce alignment. The specialist will interpret and apply classification standards, regulations, policies, and guidance to determine appropriate position titles, occupational series, grades, and related position designations. They will consult with managers and supervisors to assess duties, responsibilities, organizational needs, and workforce requirements. The position involves reviewing, developing, editing, and validating position descriptions, preparing classification evaluation statements, and determining Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) status and bargaining unit status. The specialist will conduct desk audits, identify and recommend solutions for organizational and classification issues, provide guidance and customer support, maintain classification records, and update human resources information systems.
