Communicate with claimant regarding the procedure for filing the claim. Senior responsibilities include cross training team members, crafting SOP’s and training manuals, and adjudicating all types of claims.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Excellent customer service and oral/written communication skills required.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel.
Strong data entry skills.

Responsibilities

Review claim information and other records to ascertain completeness and validity of claim
Oversee the arrangement, inspection and repair of damaged goods; monitor performance of contractors to insure repair is performed satisfactorily and timely
Correspond with all parties involved in the settlement of claim
Compute and calculate amount of claim; claimant is paid the amount due according to settlement agreement and company procedures
Determine which carrier is liable for damage of shipment; if chargeable, prepare a claims package with invoice and all documentation to support the settlement
Process improvement, i.e. enhance efficiencies, shorten claims’ lifecycle and enhance transparency within the team
Cross train team members
Craft SOP’s and training manuals
Adjudicate all types of claims
