Working with a high level of independence, this position is responsible for the full scope of complex commercial property and casualty claim handling, including coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution of high-exposure claims. The role encompasses first-party property coverages, including property, inland marine, crime, bonds, and equipment breakdown, as well as third-party casualty coverages, including general liability, premises liability, product liability, and other commercial liability exposures. The Senior Claims Adjuster (Property & Casualty) applies advanced technical expertise and sound analytical judgment to investigate losses, interpret policy coverage, assess damages and liability, establish appropriate reserves, and develop effective resolution strategies for complex and large-loss claims. This role routinely manages claims involving significant financial exposure, extensive damage, litigation potential, and heightened reputational risk. The position requires exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills to effectively coordinate with insureds, agents, claimants, attorneys, independent adjusters, expert consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders while ensuring timely and accurate claim resolution. The adjuster is expected to identify and evaluate coverage, liability, and exposure issues, provide strategic recommendations regarding reserves and settlements, and secure management approval for matters exceeding assigned authority. Collaboration, professionalism, regulatory compliance, and superior customer service are critical to success in this role.
