About The Position

GHD is looking for a Senior Track Engineer to join their team in the GTA. This role will involve leading internal Designers and Engineers, focusing on organizing the technical team, managing input and design coordination between disciplines, controlling the design path, solving problems, and holding responsibility for the track design to achieve the final result. The workplace thrives on a hybrid model, combining in-office collaboration and flexibility, with 3 days a week in the office. This position can be based in any of the GTA offices: Toronto, Mississauga, Markham, or Whitby. The role offers a variety of work within an energetic and high-performing team.

Requirements

Bachelor’s (B.Sc.) degree or equivalent
Professional Engineer licensed to practice in the Province of Ontario
15+ years' experience in similar or related experience
Demonstrable experience in the development and design of rail and transit track in a 3D environment, including complex alignments, junctions, turnouts and crossovers
Detailed understanding of Canadian Rail Codes and Standards, including (but not limited to) AREMA, CN, CPKC, and Metrolinx Track Standards
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Team building and mentoring skills

Responsibilities

Partner closely with the Rail and Transit Business Lead, and Project Managers on project functions, with a focus on managing the track design project team.
Coordinate all aspects of the design team.
Develop or verify the technical scope of a project.
Lead track design coordination meetings and address critical issues that impact external partners.
Ensure all requirements, including specifications and standards, are integrated into the project.
Serve as liaison between the site and engineering disciplines during construction and be responsible for the review of shop drawings.
