About The Position

Leidos is seeking a Senior Civil - Site Engineer to join their civil engineering department. This role will support electric utility projects and offers the opportunity to utilize the latest technology. The position involves civil design engineering for both large- and small-scale utility projects. Candidates with commercial/industrial site development, roadway corridor development, or mass grading experience will also be considered. The primary functions include performing design reviews, developing junior staff, and contributing to bids and proposal development. This role also entails taking a responsible engineer role on client projects, overseeing work, and ensuring quality control on design packages. Site visits to client facilities are expected, along with occasional travel for client meetings and industry events. Experience in client-facing operations like lunch and learns and kick-off meetings is preferred. The candidate must adhere to quality control and safe work practices, and maintain compliance with project scope, schedule, and budget. This position is a senior member of a design team comprising engineers, designers, and drafting technicians. The role can be based in Leidos offices in Charlotte, NC, Orlando, FL, Atlanta, GA, or Portland, OR. Hybrid or fully remote work arrangements may be considered for other locations including Hendersonville, TN, Walled Lake, MI, Framingham, MA, Denver, CO, and Chicago, IL.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related degree.
  • Minimum of 4 years of directly applicable civil-site design experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D software (preferred) and/or MicroStation software (considered).
  • Experience with Hydraflow, HyroCAD, Stormwise (ICPR4), and various other hydrologic and hydraulic modeling & design programs.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite, Bluebeam, and other general software tools.
  • Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
  • Team player with ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff.
  • Able to execute projects and handle clients successfully with limited supervision.
  • Willing to travel, up to 25%.
  • Authorized to work in U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • P.E. license preferred.
  • Experience in front-facing client operations such as lunch and learns, and kick-off meetings is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform design reviews on a regular basis.

  • Review civil drawings including site plan, grading and drainage in coordination with structural and physical layout drawings.
  • Stormwater modeling and design.
