About The Position

Dewberry is seeking a Senior Civil Project Manager for major public clients in their Bloomfield, NJ or New York City office. The candidate will be responsible for the technical design and multidisciplinary management of complex projects with a range of construction values for infrastructure projects. The position requires established experience with NYSDOT, NYCDDC, NYCEDC, NYCDOT, NYCDEP and NYCDPR on design projects. The Civil Engineering Group handles diverse projects including site civil, street reconstruction, highway, transit, waterfront reconstruction, resiliency, multi-use pathways, traffic improvements, maintenance and protection of traffic, drainage, utilities, and SOGR design. The role involves coordinating with and supporting architecture and other engineering disciplines.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
15+ years of experience in civil engineering design, including experience with agencies such as NYSDOT, NYCDDC, NYCEDC, NYCDOT, NYCDEP and NYCDPR on delivering constructed designs.
Working and active knowledge of AASHTO, MUTCD, Unified Stormwater Design, MS4/USWR, SWPPP, and NYC Building Code requirements related to civil discipline.
Working knowledge of civil design procedures, agency standards and permitting is required.
Experience in developing engineering proposals.
Experience in developing scope, budget and schedule for projects.
Must be a licensed NY PE.
Experience working with public agencies is required.
Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
Must be a self-motivated with initiative, drive and determination.
A clean driving record is required.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in Engineering is preferred.
Project Management experience leading complex engineering projects is required including the ability to manage multi-disciplined teams is a plus.
Experience with AutoCAD, Microstation, and/or Civil 3D is strongly preferred.
Experience with Design-Build project delivery is preferred.
Additional PE license on other states including having a NCEES Record is also a plus.
Working with the private sector is a plus.

Responsibilities

Oversees, mentors and assigns tasks to mid-level and junior engineers.
Prepares scope, budget, and schedule for projects or tasks within projects.
Manages project budget, schedule and performs technical quality control.
Leads multidisciplinary project pursuits and develops proposals for them.
Coordinates with and manages work of other disciplines in the project, including Architecture, Structural, Geotechnical, Architectural, Environmental and MEP.
Communicates effectively with client and contractor to ensure goals are met.
Schedules, leads and attends meetings, conducts site visits/field inspections.
Oversees, produces engineering calculations, reports, construction drawings and specifications.
Participates in business development activities including developing new client relationships, client presentations and other similar activities.
