About The Position

Coffman Engineers is seeking a highly skilled, self-motivated, technically minded Senior Civil Engineer / Project Manager with twelve plus years of experience to join their San Diego Office team. This role involves applying engineering skills to a variety of challenging projects, ranging from project entitlements and preliminary design through construction documents and construction administration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration required
• Minimum of 12 years of professional land development experience in the design of life sciences, commercial, office, higher education, mixed-use, residential, healthcare, municipal, and/or Federal projects
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management skills

Nice To Haves

• Registration in California
• San Diego experience and relationships a plus
• Stormwater experience in San Diego County
• Specification preparation experience

Responsibilities

• Managing multiple, concurrent projects
• Leading design team efforts
• Successfully managing project budgets and schedules
• Interfacing with a multi-discipline design team
• Mentoring junior staff
• Client management
• Technical experience with hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, technical studies, mapping documents, preparation and processing of civil construction documents, and earthwork calculations
• Stormwater experience in San Diego County preferred
• Specification preparation experience preferred
• Fostering long term client relationships
