About The Position

ASRC Federal Gulf States Constructors is seeking a Civil Engineer to support government customer programs at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas. This position is required to be on-site. The role involves performing specific duties and responsibilities related to Civil engineering, including evaluating electrical systems, products, and components and applications. The engineer will oversee A&E designs, monitor their progress and work quality, and review the AF Requirements & Optimization (R&O) playbook for project initiations and development of maintenance requirements. Responsibilities also include performing inspections on completed project work and equipment installations, capturing Real Property data, and interpreting construction/engineering contract drawings and specifications to ensure compliance. The position requires providing scope definition, specifications, studies, budgeting, and write-ups into project proposals for civil engineering projects, as well as preparing initial government cost estimates for small projects. Physical activities include climbing in and around equipment, crawling, and working outdoors. Consultation and coordination with electrical, structural, and mechanical engineers during the design phase are necessary for proper mechanical layout. The role supports project design teams comprising architects, engineers, and customer technical staff, and provides technical support to programmers and cost estimators. A key responsibility is conducting technical reviews of Military Construction (MILCON), Unspecified Minor Military Construction (UMMC), facility projects, and architect-engineer designers’ plans and specifications. The engineer will perform root cause analysis on systems failing prematurely or systemically and review AF Form 332 work request submissions for validity of scope and practicality of work in-house. Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering from a program certified by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
1-3 years of experience in Civil Engineering programs.
Be able to identify common site architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection/detection system components, and understand how they function/operate.
Have experience planning or performing facility maintenance, improvements, or repairs.
Must be a U.S. Citizen

Responsibilities
