About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Senior Civil Engineer to join their Mining, Minerals & Metals (MMM) division in Markham, Ontario. The role involves leading transformative projects from concept to completion on greenfield and brownfield mining developments, working on sustainable change and cutting-edge engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Senior level experience in Civil engineering with extensive Mining project experience.
  • A proven mining industrial record is essential.
  • Strong understanding of civil earthworks design including environmental and geotechnical requirements.
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-starter with an aptitude for problem solving and the ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
  • Strong and effective leadership skills.
  • Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Minimum B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Registration as a P.Eng.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of civil design software Civil3D and InRoads will be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Site earthwork planning and development.
  • Site grading and drainage design.
  • Haul road and crossing design.
  • Access roads and facilities infrastructure design such as pipeline corridors, pumphouse, and crane pads.
  • Prepare stormwater management plans including design of retention and detention ponds, controlled discharge.
  • Terminal storage facility (tank lot) secondary containment.
  • Underground utilities design (culverts, subdrains).
  • Supervise, guide, and mentor junior staff.
  • Advise Project Management and other disciplines of the environmental law requirements applicable to the project.
  • Manage Civil resource hours and schedule.
  • Project management and customer liaison will be an asset.
  • Prepare Civil MTOs, project cost estimates, tender documentation process, and tender evaluation.
  • Prepare/review Civil specifications and reports.
  • Provide construction support; site visits will be required.

Benefits

  • The salary range is $123,491 to $181,605 CAD.
