About The Position

Step into a key leadership position as a Senior Civil Engineer Supervisor with the Department of Transportation. In this role, you help oversee multimodal project reviews and support major initiatives that shape how people move throughout the region. You will coordinate with engineers, communities, and public officials to keep projects on track. This position offers meaningful work that makes a real difference for travelers across the area. This position oversees engineering reviews and coordination for bicycle, pedestrian, ADA, and multimodal projects across a large and complex region. Work includes supervising design reviews, supporting outreach efforts, coordinating with stakeholders, and guiding project documentation. As a Senior Civil Engineer Supervisor, you will perform the following duties: Project Oversight: Supervise design reviews for ADA, bicycle, pedestrian, and multimodal project submissions Stakeholder Coordination: Work with legislators, municipal officials, developers, media, and community groups to support project needs Contract Management: Oversee construction contract letting, consultant agreements, and related project coordination activities Program Leadership: Serve as district coordinator for bicycle, pedestrian, and multimodal initiatives and support major planning efforts Regulatory Compliance: Ensure projects meet state and federal requirements for traffic signals, ADA ramps, and multimodal design Documentation Support: Manage project documents, coordinate legal activities, and prepare information for media and outreach needs. Requirements

  • Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists
  • Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; and an associate’s degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline
  • Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities
