About The Position

Bohler’s Raleigh, North Carolina office is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to contribute to complex, high-profile land development projects. The role involves site design, grading, utilities, stormwater management, and permitting, with a focus on design quality, constructability, and regulatory compliance. The engineer will serve as a technical resource for the team and collaborate with engineers, project leaders, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

The position offers exposure to project design from concept through construction, diverse land development work, professional development, and opportunities to progress toward project leadership. The role also includes technical collaboration and guidance for junior engineers and designers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in land development design and permitting.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software.
• Knowledge of local zoning, permitting, and construction requirements.
• Detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• EIT required or in progress.

• PE license.

Responsibilities

• Design and review grading, drainage, and utility plans for complex sites.
• Conduct zoning research and site feasibility analyses.
• Support project coordination with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Review design deliverables for accuracy, quality, and compliance.
• Collaborate with and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Perform hydrology, stormwater, and earthwork calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D and design software.
• Contribute to project budgeting, workload planning, and task coordination.
