About The Position

Bohler’s Raleigh, North Carolina office is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer for land development projects. The role involves site design, grading, utilities, stormwater management, and permitting, with responsibility for design quality, constructability, and compliance. The engineer will serve as a technical resource to the team and contribute to complex, high-profile projects across Raleigh, collaborating with experienced engineers and project leaders from concept through construction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in land development design and permitting.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software.
• Knowledge of local zoning, permitting, and construction requirements.
• Detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• EIT required or in progress.
• Current authorization to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• PE license is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design and review grading, drainage, and utility plans for complex sites.
• Conduct zoning research and site feasibility analyses.
• Support project coordination with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Review design deliverables for accuracy, quality, and compliance.
• Collaborate with and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Perform hydrology, stormwater, and earthwork calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D and design software.
• Contribute to project budgeting, workload planning, and task coordination.
