Senior Civil Design Engineer / Project Manager
About The Position
Kaw Valley Engineering, Inc. (KVE) is seeking a talented Civil Design Engineer/Project Manager to join their dynamic team. This role involves managing multiple projects, interacting with production staff, clients, and review agencies. The position requires developing and QAQC Plans for site development and public improvement projects, coordinating daily workflow, and being involved in Civil Design, Utility Coordination, Permit Acquisition, and Client Invoicing. The successful candidate will collaborate with the KVE team, clients, and external stakeholders, play an integral role in client satisfaction and base development, and serve as a mentor to less experienced staff. This is a full-time, salaried position based in Garden City, Kansas, with occasional travel.
Requirements
- BS in Engineering from an accredited program
- Kansas P.E. license (ability to obtain license within 60 days)
- Experience managing and navigating the completion of projects
Nice To Haves
- Consulting experience is preferred.
- Expertise in residential and commercial site development, and transportation is a strong plus.
- Experience in municipal engineering policy and procedures is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects and interact with production staff, clients, and review agencies.
- Develop and QAQC Plans for site development and public improvement projects.
- Coordinate and complete daily workflow on assigned projects, including project studies, reports, calculations, and other similar design-related assignments.
- Be involved in Civil Design, Utility Coordination, Permit Acquisition, and Client Invoicing.
- Collaborate with the KVE team, clients, and project stakeholders, including architects and engineers outside the firm.
- Play an integral role in maintaining client satisfaction and developing our client base.
- Serve as a mentor and provide guidance to less experienced staff.
