About The Position

The Senior Child Care Worker provides quality care consistent with treatment recommendations and agency policy. The role supports, trains, orients, mentors, and supervises staff in collaboration with the Child Care Coordinator, if applicable, and the Program Manager. The position develops and carries out therapeutic activities tailored to residents’ individual and group needs, including recreational activities that make leisure time positive and rewarding. It promotes positive values, personal responsibility, and residents’ progress toward their goals and independent behavior. The role also oversees daily care and cleanliness of living units and completes required documentation and data collection.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality care consistent with treatment recommendations and agency policy.
• Support, train, orient, mentor, and supervise staff with the Child Care Coordinator, if applicable, and Program Manager.
• Develop and carry out therapeutically oriented activities based on the needs of individual residents and the group.
• Implement recreational and therapeutic activities that make leisure time a positive and rewarding experience.
• Promote values including integrity, honesty, dignity, self-respect, and self-control.
• Promote personal responsibility for maintaining personal property, equipment, and petty cash.
• Motivate, guide, and support residents as they work toward their goals.
• Promote independent behavior in keeping with treatment recommendations and guidelines.
• Oversee daily care and cleanliness of living units.
• Complete daily log entries and bed checks, and collect data on behavior plans and school communication books.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
