About The Position

The Child Care Worker works at the Haywood Regional Health & Fitness Center, supporting children and their families by providing attentive supervision, age-appropriate activities, and a safe, welcoming nursery environment. The role collaborates with the Director and team and works closely with other areas of the facility to serve members, patients, and guests. The schedule is full-time and rotating.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Caring, patient, and attentive, with a genuine enjoyment of working with children.
• Responsible and focused on children's safety, supervision, and well-being.
• Energetic and engaging, with an interest in active play and age-appropriate activities.
• Warm and family-focused, helping children and families feel welcome and comfortable.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact positively with children, parents, and team members.
• Dependable and professional, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Child care certifications preferred, as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive care and supervision, prioritizing each child’s safety and well-being.
• Create a warm, welcoming, family-focused environment where children feel comfortable, secure, and supported.
• Engage children in fun, age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, movement, social interaction, and active play.
• Build positive relationships with children and families through patience, kindness, and a caring attitude.
• Lead individual and group activities that keep children engaged and make their time in the nursery enjoyable.
• Bring energy and enthusiasm to the nursery and help create a positive experience for children and families.
• Work collaboratively with the Director and team to provide a safe, supportive, welcoming experience for members and their families.
