A position as a Senior Chemist and Chemical Engineer in the Steam Plant Chemistry team is for you! This position is for a fleet support engineer to support steam plant chemistry and cleanliness issues across the entire nuclear fleet. Applicants are welcome at either the NY or PA sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; or Currently a Senior Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to evaluate data to draw conclusions about chemistry trends
  • Ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment supporting the Navy
  • U.S. citizens
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter
  • Must be able to pass a drug test

  • Proficiency at reading fluid system drawings

Responsibilities

  • Solve problems associated with chemistry and cleanliness control in Naval nuclear steam plants.
  • Perform trials, tests, and/or experiments to support engineering, production, and/or R&D activities.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources such as experiments and studies.
  • Develop technically and economically sound recommendations and prepare comprehensive documented observations, analyses, and interpretations of results and establish operating equipment specifications.
  • Develop and recommend new processes and technologies to achieve cost effectiveness and improved product quality.
  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of small and large projects which require interfacing with various NNL and external organizations.
