Job Description The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is looking for a Chemist/Chemical Engineer to join the Reactor Plant Chemistry group supporting reactor plant chemistry with an emphasis on radiochemistry and radiochemistry equipment for U.S. Navy aircraft carriers, submarines, prototypes and moored training ships. The successful candidate will: Resolve reactor plant chemistry issues and radiochemical analysis method and equipment issues. Support reactor plant chemistry control improvement initiatives. Work with a multi-disciplined team of engineers and scientists to test and implement radiochemistry analysis methods and equipment. Support deployed radiochemistry analysis systems by designing tests, qualifying next-generation hardware, writing and maintaining procedures, training operators, responding to emergent fleet requests for technical assistance, and evaluating system data. Coordinate and manage all aspects of small and large projects which require interfacing with various NNL organizations and external organizations. The successful candidate should be able to work efficiently on multiple tasks and complete tasks in a timely manner. Limited travel is required for installation of radiochemistry equipment, vendor meetings, and radiochemistry technology conferences.
