About The Position

Sentara Neurology Princess Anne is hiring a full-time Senior Certified Medical Assistant to join its neurology team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The role supports patient care in a specialty practice serving patients with neurological conditions. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The Senior CMA performs patient-care tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluation, as delegated or assigned by—and under the direction or supervision of—a physician, NP/PA, RN, or LPN. The role also performs appropriate administrative duties.

Requirements

Three years of patient-care experience.
High school graduate or equivalent.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
Current, unexpired Medical Assistant or EMT-Basic certification from an approved nationally recognized certifying organization. Accepted certifications include CMA, CCMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CMAC, CCAMA, or EMT-B.

Responsibilities

Perform patient-care tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluation.
Carry out duties as delegated or assigned by, and under the direction or supervision of, a physician, NP/PA, RN, or LPN.
Perform administrative duties as appropriate.
