About The Position

The Senior Cath Lab Technician performs advanced imaging and interventional procedures in an acute hospital setting, following professional standards and departmental guidelines. The role supports physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular procedures, operates imaging equipment safely, maintains high-quality imaging, and monitors patient status throughout procedures. The technician also manages supplies, assists with scheduling and workflow coordination, educates and supports Cath Lab staff, and serves as the primary preceptor for new technicians. The position calls for strong clinical judgment, independent work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to patient safety and quality care.

Requirements

• State Radiation Operators License/Radiologic Technologist.
• ARRT certification is required.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS must be obtained within six months of hire.
• One year of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab is required.

• Vascular Interventional (VI) or Cardiac Interventional (CI) Registry.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced imaging and interventional procedures in accordance with professional standards and departmental guidelines.
• Support physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular procedures.
• Ensure the safe operation of imaging equipment and maintain high-quality imaging results.
• Monitor patient status throughout procedures.
• Oversee supply management.
• Assist with scheduling and workflow coordination.
• Provide education and in-service support for Cath Lab staff.
• Serve as the primary preceptor for new technicians.
