About The Position

The Senior Catering Manager is responsible for soliciting and managing corporate and social events. This role involves direct client interaction, sales presentations, contract negotiation, menu development, and overseeing event execution. The position requires extensive knowledge of food and beverage, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain high standards of customer satisfaction and professional conduct.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of Food and Beverage etiquette, guest relations and service standards.
• Strong interpersonal skills to assess client needs, negotiate pricing and provide overall guest satisfaction.
• Ability to effectively deal with internal and external guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy.
• Presents a professional appearance and manner.
• Adherence to hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.

Responsibilities

• Solicit annual, weekday, and weekend business by meeting with or calling individual corporate clients.
• Interview, train, resolve problems, and communicate with newly hired catering associates.
• Meet and greet clients, conduct property tours, and promote facilities and services.
• Answer client inquiries.
• Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.
• Develop client menus, write contracts and letters, and organize all other arrangements for social and corporate events.
• Supervise and attend the overall set up and implementation of events and meetings.
• Communicate with relevant departments to ensure proper servicing of accounts.
• Prepare and present weekly and monthly Catering/Sales reports.
