About The Position

The Senior Catering Manager is responsible for soliciting annual, weekday, and weekend business by traveling to meet with or calling individual corporate clients. This role involves interviewing, training, and resolving issues for new catering associates, conducting property tours, promoting facilities and services, and answering client inquiries. The manager will develop and deliver persuasive sales presentations, create client menus, write contracts, and organize all arrangements for social and corporate events. Additionally, they will supervise the setup and implementation of events, communicate with relevant departments for account servicing, and prepare weekly and monthly Catering/Sales reports.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of Food and Beverage etiquette, guest relations and service standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to assess client needs, negotiate pricing and provide overall guest satisfaction.
  • Effectively deal with internal and external guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy.
  • Presents a professional appearance and manner.
  • Adhere to hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
  • Meet and strive to exceed hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, punctuality and attendance.
  • Adaptable to change in work area and hotel procedures with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones.
  • Ability to solve routine problems that occur on the job and ask for help whenever not sure how to do something.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and attend the overall set up and implementation of events and meetings.
  • Communicate with relevant departments to ensure proper servicing of accounts.
  • Prepare and present weekly and monthly Catering/Sales reports.
