The Category Manager, Direct Materials will lead procurement strategy and supplier management for key direct material categories.
Requirements
- Bachelor's in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Economics, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Planning, Engineering, Quality, or Product Development.
- Experience managing direct material categories in packaging, ingredients, chemicals, or other complex materials.
- Success in category management, sourcing, supplier relationship management, and commercial negotiations.
- Experience working in global or highly matrixed organizations.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to develop sourcing strategies.
- Build and implement multi-year category roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
- Establish commercial agreements that optimize cost, quality, service, and innovation.
- Drive cost optimization through should-cost analysis, value engineering, specification improvements, and process efficiencies.
- Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Quality, and Operations on new product development and material qualification initiatives.
