The Category Manager, Direct Materials will lead procurement strategy & supplier management for key direct material categories.
Requirements
- Bachelor's in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Economics, or related field
- 8+ years Procurement, Supply Chain, Planning, Engineering, Quality, or Product Development experience
- Experience managing direct material categories in packaging, ingredients, chemicals, or other complex materials
- Success in category management, sourcing, supplier relationship management & commercial negotiations
- Experience working in global or highly matrixed organizations
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities to develop sourcing strategies
- Build & implement multi-year category roadmaps aligned w/ business objectives
- Establish commercial agreements that optimize cost, quality, service, innovation
- Drive cost optimization through should-cost analysis, value engineering, specification improvements & process efficiencies
- Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Quality & Operations on new product development & material qualification initiatives
