This Senior Carpenter role requires a versatile, seasoned carpenter capable of completing residential remodeling projects through every phase, from initial demolition to final finish work. The ideal candidate brings over 10 years of professional experience to handle a diverse range of tasks, from structural framing to high-end interior renovations. While a broad mastery of all trades is a significant asset, the company highly values and will consider candidates whose expertise is specifically geared toward exterior skills (decks, framing, siding, windows, doors, roofing) or interior finish specialization (kitchens, bathrooms, full-scale interior remodels).

Requirements

  • Capable of completing residential remodeling projects through every phase, from initial demolition to final finish work.
  • Over 10 years of professional experience.
  • Proficiency in framing.
  • Fully self-sufficient.
  • Possess own professional tools.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Expert-level understanding of construction and technical plans.
  • Ability to manage digital timesheets and track material purchases accurately through company processes.
  • Ability to commute to various job sites with necessary equipment.
  • Ability to conduct equipment inspections.
  • Ability to document safety paperwork.
  • Ability to ensure all team members utilize appropriate PPE.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance by wearing the company clothing and logo.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Training in WHMIS.
  • Training in fall protection.
  • Training in first aid.
  • Training in scaffolding & pump-jack.
  • Working knowledge of applicable building codes & safety guidelines.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as construction contracts / agreements, blue prints, procedure manuals, and estimates.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, co-workers, suppliers, or subcontractors.
  • Ability to present information and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, subcontractors, and general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic geometry to determine dimensions and material needed.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and challenges where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to successfully communicate those solutions to the client and fellow workers.
  • Ability to use and operate all basic carpentry hand and power tools.
  • Ability and license to operate a company vehicle.
  • Proven experience with Kerdi materials and the construction of custom shower systems.

Responsibilities

  • Execute organized demolition of existing structures, ensuring the protection of customer property and efficient debris management for roadside pickup or site dumpsters.
  • Measure, cut, and join wood and wood substitutes.
  • Install structural floor beams, subflooring, and construct wall and roof systems according to construction plans.
  • Complete siding installation, roof replacements, and window/door installations to ensure a weather-tight building envelope.
  • Construct and repair custom decks, porches, sunrooms, railings, and fencing.
  • Complete full interior renovations including the installation of cabinetry, countertops, and hardware & accessories.
  • Precision installation of interior trim, including doors, stairs, crown molding, and architectural millwork.
  • Perform professional-grade drywall installation, taping, and finishing, followed by high-quality painting and surface coating.
  • Expert installation of tile.
  • Construct custom shower systems to ensure waterproof, high-end tiled finishes.
  • Demonstrate mastery of hand and power tools.
  • Maintain an expert-level understanding of construction and technical plans.
  • Manage digital timesheets and track material purchases accurately through company processes.
  • Maintain reliable personal transportation suitable for commuting to various job sites with necessary equipment.
  • Conduct equipment inspections.
  • Document safety paperwork.
  • Ensure all team members utilize appropriate PPE.
  • Utilize excellent verbal communication skills to collaborate with team members.
  • Maintain a professional appearance by wearing the company clothing and logo, representing the firm with integrity at all times.
