About The Position
Visiting Angels Des Moines provides non-medical in-home care for seniors and adults with disabilities in the Des Moines area. Senior Caregivers help clients remain safe and comfortable at home through personal care, mobility support, household assistance, errands, dementia care, and companionship. Caregivers work independently in clients’ homes and receive office-team support, paid in-person hands-on training at the Urbandale office, and written details about raises, paid time off, and premium rates for short visits and holidays.
Requirements
- Experience caring for others, whether at another agency, in a facility, or as an independent caregiver.
Nice To Haves
- Openness to occasional weekend or overnight shifts.
- Prior in-home care experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting while preserving their dignity.
- Help clients transfer and move safely, and support fall prevention.
- Prepare or assist with meals, provide medication reminders, and perform light housekeeping.
- Run errands and provide rides to appointments.
- Provide Alzheimer’s and dementia care.
- Offer companionship to clients.
